How It's Calculated

No hidden dice you can't reason about. Here is exactly what Copero weighs, from your draft card to the final verdict.

01

How Copero builds your overall rating

Each of the six numeric attributes is weighted by your position — shooting carries the most weight for strikers, defending for centre-backs, passing for midfielders. Skill moves and weak foot add a small bonus of up to about three points. The result is your card's overall rating, which acts as your career ceiling: your young player starts roughly 17–20 points below it and grows toward it season by season.

That's why position choice during the draft matters as much as the steals themselves. The same eight stolen values can produce a 90+ card in one position and a mid-80s card in another.

02

Seasons and league strength

Every season Copero compares your current rating against the strength of your league. That gap drives everything: appearances, goals and assists (scaled by position), and your season rating from about 5.8 to 9.4. The same player posts very different numbers in a second division and a top-five league — dominating weak leagues is easy, and Copero knows it.

Your club's league finish mixes the squad's strength with your personal impact: a high season rating can drag a mid-table side toward the title race. League titles only count from top-tier leagues, and continental cups only realistically follow champions of strong leagues.

03

Growth, decline and value

In Copero, growth follows an age curve: fast before 21, steady to 26, flat to 29, then decline that accelerates after 33. Strong seasons add a performance bonus to growth; poor ones subtract. Market value is a curve on rating multiplied by an age factor — a 24-year-old at 85 is worth multiples of a 32-year-old at the same rating. Retirement comes at 38 at the latest, earlier if your level collapses.

04

The Copero legacy score and verdicts

At retirement everything is folded into one legacy score: career goals and assists, appearances, international caps, league titles, continental cups, World Cups and Ballon d'Ors — with the rare honours weighted heaviest. The verdict tiers, from Journeyman through Solid Pro, Star, World Class and Legend up to The Phenomenon, are fixed thresholds on that score. Copero's top verdict additionally requires multiple Ballon d'Ors, because one perfect season never made a phenomenon.
